A 38-year-old man admitted to a de-addiction center in the Raipur police station area died under suspicious circumstances on Monday. Following a complaint from the deceased’s family, Raipur police conducted a post-mortem examination and have launched an investigation. On Tuesday, the police also seized the DVR containing CCTV footage from the de-addiction center.
SSP Ajay Singh stated that Roshni Devi, a resident of Tapovan Road, informed the police station on Tuesday that her son, Neeraj Kumar Verma, had been admitted to the de-addiction center located in Tapasthali, Ranjhawala, since August 9, 2025. On December 14, his health suddenly deteriorated.
The de-addiction center staff admitted him to a nearby hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to the higher-level Mahant Indresh Hospital the same day, where he died on Monday. The family has demanded an investigation into the cause and circumstances of his death.
