Dehradun, which has been in the news for six murders in the past month, has been hit by another murder. The body of a woman, found in a decomposed state in a sack, was found in the forest near the Bala Sundari Temple in the Prem Nagar police station area. The body is said to be about four to five days old. Police have begun efforts to identify the woman.
SP City Pramod Kumar stated that on Wednesday, Prem Nagar police station received information about a body lying in the forest near the Bala Sundari Temple in the Prem Nagar area. A police team immediately arrived at the scene. The body was found in a decomposed state. It is suspected that the woman may have died four to five days ago. Given the seriousness of the incident, a team from the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) was also called to the scene. The team photographed and videographed the scene and collected necessary evidence.
Police attempted to identify the body by questioning nearby residents but were unsuccessful. SSP Pramod Singh Dobal also arrived at the scene and inquired about the incident. The SSP has formed separate police teams to identify the woman and uncover the incident. Police are also investigating missing persons cases registered in nearby police stations. The cause of the woman’s death will be clearly known only after the post-mortem report is received. The body has been sent to Coronation Hospital for a post-mortem examination
