Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who arrived to inspect the disaster-affected areas in Dharali, Uttarkashi, came across such a scene on Friday, which made everyone present there emotional. During the disaster, the woman trapped suddenly tore the edge of the sari and tied a Rakhi to the CM.
Dhangauri Baraulia, a resident of Ishanpur, Ahmedabad, had come with her family to visit Gangotri. The terrible disaster that struck Dharali on August 5 changed the direction of her life. The road was completely closed due to the sudden debris and strong currents and she got trapped along with her family. There was an atmosphere of devastation, fear and uncertainty all around. Hundreds of kilometers away from home, no one knew what would happen next.
During this time, relief and rescue operations started rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami. Rescue teams made continuous efforts even in difficult conditions and brought Dhangauri and her family out safely. For the first time, a smile of relief came on the faces trembling with fear
On Friday, when Chief Minister Dhami was inspecting the disaster-affected areas at ground zero, Dhangauri could not hold back her gratitude. There were tears in her eyes, but there was trust, not fear in those tears. She stepped forward, tore the edge of her sari and tied a piece of it on the Chief Minister’s wrist as a Rakhi.
While tying the Rakhi, she got emotional and said that for me Chief Minister Dhami is like Lord Krishna, who has protected not only me but all the mothers and sisters present here like a brother. He has been taking care of our safety and needs by staying among us for three days.
She said that it was not just a piece of cloth, but it was threaded with a sister’s faith, affection and unwavering affection for her protector brother. Chief Minister Dhami also held her hand and assured that as a brother, he would stand with the sisters affected by the disaster in every situation and all possible help would be given by the state government.
This touching moment of brother-sister relationship in the difficult circumstances of Dharali brought tears to the eyes of everyone present there. This scene of intimacy born amidst the debris of the disaster became the most beautiful example of humanity, sensitivity and brotherhood
