A massive fire suddenly broke out at an army camp near Auli Road in Joshimath, Chamoli district. The fire caused panic in the area. Army personnel and a fire service team rushed to the spot and began fighting the blaze, but the fire was so intense that extinguishing it proved to be a challenging task.
The fire at the army camp spread over a large area, making it difficult for the soldiers and the fire service team to bring it under control. According to reports, the fire started in an army storehouse containing plastic materials. There was also a field nearby with dry grass. Strong winds fanned the flames, causing the fire to spread rapidly. Efforts are now underway to gradually bring the fire under control.
