Today, January 15, 2026, a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was launched between the ITBP, the Animal Husbandry Department, and the Health Department.
The objective of this agreement is to ensure the continuous and high-quality availability of medical services and primary veterinary services to residents in border villages. In the first phase, 108 border villages in three districts – Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi – have been included.
In these villages, primary veterinary services, telemedicine, and animal health facilities will be provided by ITBP veterinarians and paramedics through the resources available with the Animal Husbandry Department.
Under this agreement, a veterinary health card will be prepared for each animal to ensure the quality of vaccinations and medications. A joint steering committee has been constituted, which will be responsible for decision-making and necessary reviews. This agreement will initially be valid for two years and will be reviewed periodically.
Through this agreement, a systematic and accountable framework has been created, integrating all aspects such as human resources, logistics, financial provisions, and vaccination.
Similarly, according to the MoU between the Health Department and the ITBP, the people of the said region will receive health facilities through ITBP doctors.
The MoU between the Animal Husbandry Department, the Health Department, and the ITBP was signed under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, in the presence of Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Saurabh Bahuguna, Health Minister Shri Dhan Singh Rawat, IG ITBP Shri Sanjay Gunjiyal, Secretary Animal Husbandry Shri BVRC Purushottam, Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Uday Shankar, and Health Director Smt.
