On 29th August, a grand ceremony will be organized in Dehradun on the occasion of National Sports Day. During this, cash prize money will also be given to the medal winners of the recently held 38th National Games in the state. Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that a total amount of about 22 crore rupees will be distributed to the players of the state on this day.
On Friday, she reviewed the preparations for the ceremony by holding a meeting. She said that a grand ceremony will be organized on 29th August at the Parade Ground. In which there will also be a performance by the Pandavaz Band. Apart from this, sports disciplines like Yogasana and Mallakhamb will also be demonstrated in the ceremony.
She said that in the ceremony, the medal winners of the 38th National Games will be given Rs 11.69 crore of their cash prize money. Apart from this, cash prize money will also be distributed to a total of 432 players who won medals for Uttarakhand in various national sports competitions and 27 players of Uttarakhand who won medals for the country in international sports competitions. In the function, an amount of more than 1 crore 75 lakh rupees will be transferred to the accounts of 3900 selected players in the age group of 8 to 14 years under the Chief Minister’s Emerging Players Unnayan Yojana. Apart from this, an amount of more than 3 crore 97 lakh rupees will be DBT transferred to 2199 selected players in the state in the age group of 14 to 23 years under the Chief Minister’s Incentive Scheme. The beneficiaries of both these schemes are being given the amount for the three months May, June and July together.
