The government has implemented the Uttar Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) in all three energy corporations of the state for a period of six months. No employee organization will be able to go on strike during this period.
Notification of ESMA has been issued by Principal Secretary Energy R Meenakshi Sundaram in Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) and Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (PITKUL).
Under this, strike will be banned in all three energy corporations for the next six months. Under this notification, UPCL and other corporations have also sent a letter to the President, General Secretary, General Secretary, Principal General Secretary of all employee unions, organizations, associations of the energy sector. It has been made clear in this that strike will be banned after the implementation of ESMA.
