A person died under suspicious circumstances after being hit by the Naini Doon Express train. Police is investigating the case considering it to be a suicide at first sight.
Doiwala’s Inspector-in-Charge KK Lunthi said that the police received information from Harrawala railway station that a person died after being hit by the Naini Doon train near Mianwala. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and found the body of a person lying in a mutilated state on the track. The train’s loco pilot Mahesh Chand Kandpal told the police that at around 12:30 a person suddenly came out of the bushes and came under the train.
Lunthi said that the deceased was identified as Dinesh Kumar (48) son of Chaman Lal, resident of Naya village Mian Dehradun. Prima facie the case seems to be a suicide. All aspects of the incident are being investigated.
