Departmental officers have been instructed to prepare a detailed estimate for the reconstruction and repair of schools damaged due to natural disaster across the state, so that the damaged schools can be repaired. Apart from this, ‘Seva Pakhwada’ will be compulsorily celebrated in all schools from 17 September to 2 October, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For this, departmental officers were also instructed to complete all the preparations at the district and block level. The state’s School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat today held a review meeting of the Education Department at the government residence in Yamuna Colony. In which he took information from the departmental officers about the schools damaged by the recent natural disaster. Giving top priority to the repair of assets like school buildings, walls, roofs, courtyards, boundary walls etc. damaged by the disaster under secondary and primary education, he instructed the officers to prepare a detailed estimate within five days and send it to the Directorate General of Education, so that the construction and repair work of damaged schools can be started with the funds released from the Disaster Relief Fund. He said that there will be no shortage of funds for the construction and repair work of damaged schools, if required, more funds will be sanctioned for reconstruction work from the disaster fund. In the meeting, Dr. Rawat directed the officials to celebrate ‘Seva Pakhwada’ in schools across the state from 17 September to 2 October, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that under the Seva Pakhwada, various public service programs will be organized in schools, along with programs like special cleanliness campaign, environmental protection activities, de-addiction awareness rallies, promotion of digital education and health check-up camps for students will also be conducted. He directed the Chief Education Officers of all the districts that all the programs of Seva Pakhwada should be conducted with the spirit of coordination and participation and during this time all the activities should be monitored from block level to district level and its follow-up should also be taken. Dr. Rawat said that the education department is not limited to only teaching and learning, but is also playing a leading role in the promotion of social awareness and moral values.
