Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and Congress MLA Pritam Singh have resigned from the post of members of the Assembly Business Advisory Committee. The Leader of Opposition says that the state government wants to run the House on the basis of numbers. The government is taking unilateral decisions without taking the members of the committee into confidence, due to which there is no justification for the members to be in the committee.
Resignation was sent to the Assembly Speaker on behalf of Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and MLA Pritam Singh. A business advisory meeting was called on August 18 for the monsoon session. In this, an agenda was set for running the House for one day on August 19. To run the House further, a business advisory meeting was to be held again on August 19, but the business advisory meeting was not called. The session was adjourned in the afternoon on August 20.
Before taking this decision, the government did not take the members of the business advisory committee into confidence. The government is adopting a dictatorial attitude in running the House. Adjourning the monsoon session indefinitely in two days is a betrayal to the people of the state. The Leader of Opposition said that hurt by the arbitrariness of the government, MLA Pritam Singh along with me has resigned from the post of member.
Let us tell you that Leader of Opposition and MLA Pritam Singh had earlier also resigned from the Business Advisory Committee but the Assembly Speaker did not accept it. On the other hand, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that I have not received the resignation yet. If the resignation has been sent then the Assembly Secretary must have received it.
