Dehradun: Stunts were seen on the roof of the Mall of Dehradun near Jogiwala under the Nehru Colony police station area. The police took five youths who were doing stunts with bikes and cars into custody and took challan action. Also, one car and one bike have been seized. Further action is being taken by the police in the matter.
According to the information, on the evening of August 15, the Nehru Colony police station received information that some youths were doing stunts on the roof of the Mall of Dehradun through rally cars and racer bikes. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot. On reaching the spot, it was found that two bike riders were emitting smoke from the car by giving loud accelerator and were making noise. However, both the bike riders had left the spot before the police arrived.
On enquiring from the management staff of the Mall of Dehradun, it was found that the roof was used only for parking. The rally car group had a lunch program at Aama Cafe. After which 10 organizers were challaned under Section 81 of the Police Act. 5 challans were made against the Mall of Dehradun management under Section 83 of the Police Act. The bikes and cars causing nuisance were seized as per the rules under the sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. Also, the mall management was strictly warned not to organize such events in the future without permission. In total, 15 people have been challaned.
Nehru Colony Police Station in-charge Sanjeet Kumar said that during the investigation it was also found that the event was organized by a group called ‘In Drive Motor’. The mall management was only told that they would have lunch at Aama Cafe and park the vehicles in the designated parking (rooftop parking). But two of these mischievous elements did a burn out by a bike rider and a car rider. Which caused noise pollution and public inconvenience.
