According to the information, Dalbir Singh Gusain has a years old shop near Hotel Wild Flower in ward number 12 of Mussoorie Municipality, which suddenly collapsed on the morning of 12 August. Apart from this, the hotel attached to the shop has also come under threat.
People scared by the sound of the shop falling: According to local residents, the torrential rain that was happening intermittently throughout the night had weakened the ground. As soon as people woke up from sleep in the morning, a loud sound shook the entire area. When people came out of their houses, Dalbir Singh’s shop had turned into rubble.
While the shop has been completely damaged in this accident, the hotel located next to the shop has also been partially damaged. All the goods, furniture and construction material kept there have been destroyed due to the collapse of the shop. Gusain has suffered financial loss of lakhs of rupees. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life in this accident.
Naib Tehsildar did inspection: As soon as the information of the incident was received, Naib Tehsildar Kamal Rathore himself reached the spot and took stock of the damage. He reviewed the situation of the spot while inspecting the debris and said that he would submit the report to the higher officials. He told that this area can come under the grip of a possible landslide. He said that the victim will be helped under the disaster rules.
