Ramnagar: Late last evening, a Bolero full of devotees met with an accident near Garjia temple. This vehicle was coming from Seohara, Rampur, Uttar Pradesh to visit Garjia Devi temple carrying seven members of the same family. Two small children were also among the seven people in the Bolero. Three people were injured in the incident, in which the condition of a woman is said to be critical.
According to eyewitnesses, while giving way to another vehicle on a narrow road near Garjia temple, the vehicle lost its balance, the Bolero suddenly overturned on the side of the road. After the accident, there was a scream among the people in the vehicle, due to which the local people present nearby immediately reached the spot and pulled out the trapped passengers with great difficulty. As soon as the incident was reported, 108 ambulances reached the spot and all the injured were admitted to the Joint Hospital in Ramnagar. Where the injured are undergoing treatment.
A woman named Malvati has suffered serious injuries in the accident, who has been kept under the supervision of doctors. The condition of the rest of the injured is said to be stable at the moment. On receiving the information, Ramnagar Tehsildar Manisha Markana also reached the spot and enquired about the condition of the injured. She said that all the injured are being treated, after first aid, the referral process will be done as per the need. The most injured in the accident was a woman named Malavati, whom the doctors are constantly monitoring. The Tehsildar said that this family was coming from Seohara Rampur with devotion to visit Garjia Devi temple, during the rainy season, drivers should take special care on the hilly and riverside roads.
Due to the roads being slippery and narrow, a small mistake can cause a big accident. Local people have appealed to the administration to further strengthen the safety measures on the Garjia temple route. He said that this route is always full of devotees and tourists, so it is necessary to have barriers, warning boards on the sides of the road and strict adherence to the speed limit. Garjia Devi temple is one of the major religious places of Kumaon. Devotees from the country and abroad come here throughout the year. Especially during the month of Saavan and festivals, there is a huge crowd of devotees here. In such a situation, it becomes very important to maintain road safety and traffic system.
