Rishikesh: Five temporary shops on the roadside on Neelkanth Marg near Laxman Jhula caught fire. Due to the fire, valuable goods worth lakhs of rupees kept inside the shop and the shop were burnt to ashes. A scooty also burnt to ashes due to the fire. The incident is said to have happened at 3.30 am in the morning. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. The victims have expressed the suspicion of the shops being set on fire. After the incident, the police has started investigation.
According to the police, five people have temporary shops on Neelkanth Marg near Laxman Jhula bridge. The police control room received information about a fire breaking out in these shops under suspicious circumstances at around 3.30 am on Monday morning. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot and somehow controlled the fire. As soon as the information about the fire was received, the shop operators also reached the spot in a hurry. The operators said that two shops were of artificial rings, garlands, Rudraksha and precious stones. One shop was empty, while two shops were of food items. All these shops have been burnt to ashes.
There was a loss of lakhs of rupees in the incident. The shop operators are calling the fire incident a conspiracy and not an accident. Laxman Jhula police station in-charge Santosh Pathwal said that the police has started its investigation to know the cause of the fire incident. Further action will be taken on the basis of the facts that will come out in the investigation. The owner of the scooty that caught fire is also being traced. Let us tell you that efforts were going on to remove the shops in which the fire broke out late at night. In such a situation, the shop operators are seeing the incident of fire in the shops as a conspiracy. However, this is still a matter of investigation.
It is worth noting that on July 4, a fire broke out in Shagun Wedding Point near RPS School in Rishikesh. Due to the fire, all the goods of the wedding point and five vehicles were burnt to ashes. After getting the information, the police reached the spot and could barely control the fire. While due to the fire, the nearby private school was closed. The loss due to the fire was estimated to be in lakhs of rupees. After the incident, the police started investigating the matter.
