On 24th July, in Tadi Khet, a block of Ranikhet in Almora district, a car driver molested a female polling officer who was returning home after finishing the Panchayat election duty, and when she protested, the accused beat her up. The female officer saved her life by jumping out of the car. In which she got injured.
In this case, Uttarakhand State Women Commission President Kusum Kandwal took suo motu cognizance and while talking to Senior Superintendent of Police Almora Devendra Pincha on phone, asked for strict action in the case. She said that this is a very serious and condemnable case.
Register a case against the accused under relevant sections and take strict action against him and also cancel his driving license. SSP Devendra Pincha Almora said that after the complaint, a case has been registered in the case and the accused has also been identified. At present, the accused is admitted in the hospital for treatment. Action is being taken along with a serious investigation in the case.
Information revealed that the victim was waiting for a vehicle on the road after finishing her duty at around 6:30 pm on July 24. She had to go towards Tadi Khet. Meanwhile, a white Maruti WagonR car stopped there and the accused driver offered to drop the woman officer to Tadi Khet. On this, she sat in the car. The woman has alleged that after going some distance, the driver started doing obscene acts with the woman officer. And the accused started forcing the woman. When the woman protested against the molestation, the accused started beating and misbehaving with her. He also increased the speed of the vehicle. Meanwhile, gathering courage, the victim jumped out of the moving car when the vehicle slowed down at a sharp turn. Hearing the noise, some villagers from the nearby area reached there and helped the female employee.
