Haridwar Sports Complex and Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) have launched the “Play to Rise” scholarship program for children from economically weaker sections (EWS). Under this scheme, children will be given free coaching in football, cricket and badminton for one year.

HRDA Vice President IAS Anshul Singh said that in compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji, basic facilities have been strengthened to promote sports activities. In this sequence, the Play to Rise program has been started to train financially weak talented young players. The objective of this initiative is to bring out the hidden talent in sports and give them an opportunity for better training, so that financial constraints do not become an obstacle in the way of their dreams.
