The district administration in Dehradun has given concrete shape to the Automatic Mechanical Parking Scheme, realizing the Chief Minister’s vision of modern Uttarakhand. These automatic mechanical parking facilities prepared at District Hospital Coronation, Tibetan Market and Parade Ground will soon be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Automatic parking has started in Coronation Hospital. Here the vehicles of the hospital staff are being parked automatically. This is providing additional space in ground-level parking for patients and attendants. The district administration has constructed parking with a capacity of 96 vehicles at Parade Ground, 132 at Tibetan Market and 18 at Coronation in a very small space. Its special feature is that these parking can also be shifted to other places. After completion of testing and trial commissioning, these parking will prove effective in getting rid of the problem of jam in the city. District Magistrate Savin Bansal has deployed two skilled technical operators for the operation of the parking and has also provided insurance cover in case of any damage to the vehicles in the parking. This experiment of the district administration is being considered a successful step towards developing such parking at other places in future. This innovative initiative will reduce traffic pressure along with increasing parking facilities in the city.
Under the leadership of the District Magistrate, the district administration is engaged in realizing the modern Uttarakhand vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The first automatic mechanical parking built in the state has been handed over to the Coronation Hospital. Automatic parking has also been prepared in Tibetan Market and Parade Ground. The Hon’ble Chief Minister will soon inaugurate these three parkings and dedicate them to the public.
This experiment of the DM will prove effective in the traffic system in the city. The district administration is also exploring the possibilities of building automatic parking at other places in the city. Such multi-level automatic parking to be built at a small place in the city will not only provide convenience to the general public but will also ease traffic.
