Dehradun: The city’s Basant Vihar police station arrested two accused of assault and murderous attack from different places in Basant Vihar area. In a dispute over a car collision, the accused, along with their other companions, had attacked two persons with sticks. Both the arrested accused have already been booked for assault and other criminal incidents.
In fact, Deepankar Singh, a resident of Shimla bypass Dehradun, had lodged a complaint on July 6 that on the night of July 5, he was going to Basant Vihar to drop his relative in his car. About 100 steps ahead of the ITBP gate, another car and a red bullet rider without number plate came at a high speed and hit his car.
After the incident, the people in the vehicle abused him and attacked him and his brother with sticks, rods and stones. In which he and his brother suffered serious injuries. After the attack, the attackers fled from there thinking his brother was dead. The accused involved in the assault were Fakhruddin resident of Mehunwala, Kabir Malik resident of Turner Road, Chaitanya Sharma resident of Chandrabani, Siddharth Sharma and Devansh Verma and many others. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, a case was registered against the accused in Basant Vihar police station.
A police team was formed to arrest the accused. The police team gathered information about the accused and arrested Kabir Malik and Siddharth Sharma involved in the incident from different places in Basant Vihar area.
Basant Vihar police station in-charge Pradeep Rawat said that both the accused have been produced in the court and sent to district jail Sudhowala in judicial custody. Raids are on to search for other accused. Four cases have already been registered against accused Siddharth Sharma and three cases against Kabir Malik.
Mobile robbery accused arrested: Police arrested the accused who robbed mobile and cash from a youth under IDPL outpost area of โโRishikesh. Police have recovered the looted mobile and Rs 23 thousand cash from the possession of the accused. The police presented the accused in the court on the basis of the case. Where on the order of the court, the police has sent the accused to jail. The police has started further investigation and action in the case.
Kotwal Pradeep Rana said that a youth fled after robbing a mobile and 5 thousand rupees from Ashok Kumar, a resident of Jharkhand, under the IDPL outpost area. On receiving the complaint, the police registered a case in the matter and directed IDPL outpost in-charge Vinay Sharma to arrest the robber as soon as possible. In this episode, Vinay Sharma succeeded in arresting the robber. The accused has been identified as Arun Mahato, a resident of Muzaffarpur Bihar. Ashok Kumar’s mobile and 23 thousand rupees in cash have been recovered from the accused’s possession. After interrogation, the accused has been sent to jail on the orders of the court.
