Dehradun: Monsoon will pick up speed again in Uttarakhand from today. The Meteorological Center has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Rudraprayag, Tehri, Bageshwar and Dehradun on July 6. On the other hand, the process of roads getting closed due to debris continues. 67 roads are closed in the state including the Yamunotri Highway.
According to the State Emergency Operations Center, four rural roads in Rudraprayag district, 11 rural roads including one NH in Uttarkashi, two in Nainital, 21 rural roads including one state highway in Chamoli, six rural in Pithoragarh, one highway and one rural in Almora, 11 rural in Bageshwar district, three rural in Pauri Garhwal, two rural in Dehradun and three rural roads in Tehri district are closed due to debris. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in other districts.
