Bynhat (Almora):- Nathu Singh Bora (72), who was in the BSF and guarded the borders for 33 years, has died. He was buried with honours at the crematorium in Naulakot.
Nathu Singh Bora, a resident of Naulakot village in Parihat block, died of cardiac arrest at his residence on Friday. Bora was retired from the post of inspector in the BSF. He is survived by his wife Mamta Devi, three married sons and a daughter. His three sons work in the private sector in other states.
On Saturday afternoon, two sons, Uttam Singh and Govind Bora, reached the village from Gujarat after receiving the news of their father’s death. The third son Jeevan Singh could not reach from Mumbai. On Saturday evening, his sons Uttam and Govind offered fire at the local crematorium. ITBP jawans paid their last respects from the sector headquarters in Bimola (Almora) and paid tributes by laying a wreath.
It is noteworthy that self. Nathu Singh Bora was the vice-president of the Haat by the Ex-Paramilitary Force Personal Welfare Association and continued to work for the welfare of the people after his retirement. MLA Madan Singh Bisht, former MLAs Pushpesh Tripathi and Mahesh Negi, Harish Bora, Ex Para Military Forces Personal Welfare Association Kumaon Mandal President Manohar Singh Negi, District President TD Sharma, Mahendra Bora etc have paid tributes on his death.
