This time, tourists tried to molest schoolgirls near the Campty stand. This was opposed by the student’s brother and locals. There was a scuffle on both sides. During this, a young man from the tourists attacked the locals with a knife. In which a local was seriously injured. Meanwhile, the police have arrested two tourists.
Tourists made objectionable comments on girls: According to information, four tourists from Jalandhar in Punjab were standing near the camp stand and making objectionable comments on girls returning home from school. On the protest of the students, the local people present in the vicinity immediately reached the spot and protested.
A tourist pulled out a knife and hit a local youth: As the dispute escalated, one of the tourists pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed a local youth, seriously injuring him. The injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
Two accused in police custody, two are still absconding: At the same time, the Mussoorie police, which reached the spot on the information of the incident, took immediate action and detained two of the four youths. However, two youths managed to escape. Police are searching for the accused tourists. There was a lot of anger among the locals after the incident.
