Kandisaud (Tehri): A pilgrim from Bengaluru, Karnataka, who had come for Chardham Yatra, died of a heart attack. Pilgrim C P Ramesh, son of Chandra Moli (59), had left for Chardham Yatra on 16 May with his friends. After Yamunotri, he reached Gangotri on 20 May where he was brought to Uttarkashi Hospital after complaining of chest pain.
He was undergoing treatment when his condition worsened on Wednesday morning and the doctors referred him to the higher centre Rishikesh AIIMS. As soon as the ambulance reached Kandisaur, he was taken to the nearest hospital, Community Health Centre Kandisaur Chham, due to sudden severe chest pain.
Here, C P Ramesh was declared dead by the doctors. Police Sub-Inspector Jugal Kishore Bhatt of Chham police station said that after preparing the Panchnama, the body has been sent to the District Hospital, Bouradi, for postmortem in the custody of his son and friends.
