Dehradun: An order has been issued to remove 6 Indian and foreign liquor shops which have become a hindrance in traffic. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Road Safety Committee. If the order of the District Administration is not followed, the license will be cancelled. Also, the State Government has given the responsibility to the District Magistrate to take a decision in case of local protest, hindrance in law and order, public outrage due to liquor shops, sub-shops.
Let us tell you that in the meeting of the Road Safety Committee held on 27 March under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, SSP, SP Traffic said that the main reason for the increasing road accidents in the city and liquor shops at places with traffic jams are the liquor shops. Also, a request was made to shift the liquor shops from these places. After which the District Magistrate decided to shift 6 Indian and foreign liquor shops located at Sun Park In Chowk, Chuna Bhatta, Bindal Tiraha, Rozgar Tiraha.
On the police proposal, the DM has issued orders to transfer the liquor shops which are a threat to public safety and are obstructing traffic within 1 week. Earlier, in view of safety on the roads of Dehradun, electric poles obstructing traffic at 23 places are being shifted. Left turn free and displacement of shops at 16 places, police booth shift at 10 places, Jakhan communication cut, 06 number culvert service lane / slipway construction process is going on rapidly. District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that the Road Safety Committee constituted at the district level is committed to safe traffic on the roads of the capital. Life safety is paramount. All factors obstructing safe traffic on the roads will be eliminated. In view of this, an order has been issued to shift 6 Indian and foreign liquor shops which are obstructing traffic. Also, obstructions in smooth traffic on the roads will not be tolerated.
