Dehradun: Even though ceasefire has been declared after the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the district administration has released a budget of Rs 25 lakh to install 15 loud electronic sirens in Dehradun. These sirens will be installed at police stations and outposts. They will also be connected to the command and control centre. From where all the sirens will be able to sound simultaneously.
Let us tell you that during the tension between India and Pakistan, a mock drill was organised in Dehradun on 08 May. In which the sirens were tested at the District Magistrate’s office, Araghar Chowki, Dhara Chowki, ISBT, MDDA Colony and INAVH. The sound of the siren was very low during the trial. The sound of the siren did not reach very far. After which the District Magistrate held a meeting and decided to install 15 loud electronic sirens in Dehradun. For which a budget of Rs 25 lakh has been released.
In this, 10 sirens will have the capacity to cover a distance of eight km. The sound of five sirens can reach up to 16 km. Also, it will be useful not only in case of air emergency but also in case of natural disaster. District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that an amount of Rs 25 lakh has been given from untied fund. Purchase order has been issued for the purchase of sirens. Soon 15 electronic sirens will be purchased.
