The Uttarakhand State Mahila Congress staged a vigorous protest against the recurring road accidents on the Asharodi-Mohabbewala route in Dehradun. Led by State President Jyoti Rautela, party workers raised slogans against the government and burned an effigy of the administration.
Jyoti Rautela stated that the frequent accidents on this key route connecting Dehradun are a matter of grave concern, involving the safety of citizens’ lives and property. She demanded that the administration identify accident-prone areas and implement concrete, permanent safety measures.
When no competent official arrived during the protest, the workers proceeded to the District Magistrate’s office and submitted a memorandum to the DM. The Mahila Congress warned that this agitation, undertaken in the public interest, would continue until safe commuting is ensured.
