National Lok Adalat in Dehradun: 12,444 cases settled in a single day; settlements worth over ₹30.33 crore
On September 12, 2026, the third National Lok Adalat of the year was held across Dehradun district and the outlying courts of Rishikesh, Vikasnagar, Doiwala, Mussoorie, and Chakrata, under the chairmanship of District Judge Mr. Harish Kumar Goyal. A total of 12,444 cases were resolved, resulting in settlements amounting to ₹30,33,93,475.

Dehradun Court: 5,541 cases resolved (Settlement amount: ₹26,49,89,532)
Outlying Courts:
Vikasnagar: 1,316 cases (₹1,71,24,800)
Rishikesh: 557 cases (₹2,59,13,969)
Doiwala: 179 cases (₹1,16,58,219)
Mussoorie: 55 cases (₹8,21,083)
Chakrata: 73 cases (₹10,91,500)
Pre-litigation stage: 6,903 cases involving various banks and institutions resolved (Settlement amount: ₹3,84,03,943)
District Judge Harish Kumar Goyal described this as a medium for swift and accessible justice. Seema Dungrakoti, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, commended the efforts of all judicial officers and advocates.
