The Technical Education Department of Uttarakhand will organize special job fairs to provide employment opportunities in multinational companies for 10,000 unemployed youths across the state. In this regard, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, the Minister for Higher and Technical Education, held a departmental review meeting at his official residence and issued necessary instructions to the officials.
Under this initiative, four major job fairs will be organized: in Srinagar and Dehradun within the Garhwal division, and in Kashipur and Almora within the Kumaon division. These fairs will offer employment opportunities in the private sector not only to students who have completed vocational coursesโthrough polytechnics, ITIs, engineering colleges, and the school education systemโbut also to rural youth. Instructions have been issued to launch a free online registration process for this within a week. Departments of School Education, Higher Education, and Skill Development will also participate in these fairs alongside the Technical Education Department.
Additionally, a decision was taken during the meeting to establish media cells at the headquarters of all these departments. Three IT-proficient personnel will be appointed to each cell; their primary responsibility will be to disseminate information regarding government schemes and development activities to the general public. Senior officials, including Higher Education Secretary B.V.R.C. Purushottam and Technical Education Secretary Dr. Ranjit Sinha, were present at the meeting.
