Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra’ at Gandhi Park in Dehradun on Sunday. During the event, he urged the people of the state to hoist the Tricolour at their homes on Independence Day and to uphold the spirit of patriotism. At the start of the program, he paid tribute to the statues of the late Indramani Badoni and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at Ghantaghar and led a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Gandhi Park to Ghantaghar alongside thousands of citizens.
The Chief Minister stated that the Tricolour is a symbol of the pride and self-respect of crores of Indians. Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he remarked that India is guiding the world today by becoming self-reliant in sectors such as the economy, defense, ‘Make in India,’ and the digital revolution. Aligned with the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ (Developed India 2047), the Uttarakhand government is also making rapid strides in the development of education, healthcare, infrastructure, and connectivity.
Highlighting the state’s progress, he noted that Uttarakhand has recorded a 7.23 percent growth in its GSDP and an increase in per capita income, with the establishment of over 20,000 new industries and more than 1,750 startups. Additionally, the state government has implemented an anti-conversion law, the country’s first Uniform Civil Code, and a stringent anti-cheating law. Under the anti-cheating law, more than 34,000 youths have secured fair government jobs over the past five years.
