A meeting regarding the strengthening and modernization of the Revenue Police and Land Records Survey Institute, Almora, was held at the Board of Revenue auditorium in Dehradun, presided over by Commissioner and Secretary Smt. Ranjana Rajguru.
During the meeting, directives were issued to develop the institute in alignment with future administrative needs and to enhance the effectiveness of the training system. The Commissioner noted that this institute serves as the primary training hub for the Revenue Department’s Naib Tehsildars, Revenue Inspectors, and Patwaris/Lekhpals. Therefore, the infrastructure should be developed to ensure trainees become proficient in modern administrative requirements, good governance, and land record management.
Key Directives:
• Modern Technology: Providing practical training on modern survey equipment—such as DGPS rovers and ETS—and new software.
• Digital India: Establishing modern training labs through the timely utilization of the DILRMP budget, and providing training in GIS and e-governance.
• Infrastructure: Repairing dilapidated buildings and upgrading facilities such as the hostel, mess, library, and training grounds.
The government’s objective is to equip revenue personnel with modern technologies to ensure the delivery of transparent and accessible services to the general public.
