The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has taken major action against illegal constructions and unauthorized plotting. Conducted under the directives of Joint Secretary Pratyush Singh, this operation resulted in the demolition of illegal plotting activities spanning an area of over 50 bighas, while an illegal structure on Mussoorie Road was sealed.
Key Actions:
• Tapovan Enclave: Here, illegal plotting being carried out on approximately 20 to 25 bighas of land—without the Authority’s approval—was demolished.
• Sahastradhara Road (Mandakini Vihar): Similarly, structures associated with unauthorized plotting activities covering an area of about 20 to 25 bighas were removed here as well.
• Galjwadi (Mussoorie Road): An illegal construction, being undertaken in violation of regulations, was completely sealed.
MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari and Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia emphasized that the planned development of the city remains the Authority’s top priority. Since illegal colonies adversely impact civic amenities in the future, this campaign will continue moving forward. Officials have appealed to the general public to ensure they verify all statutory permissions before investing in any property or undertaking any construction work.
