Adopting a firm stance against illegal encroachments by land mafias in the vicinity of the Rispana River in Dehradun, the administration has executed a major enforcement operation. A joint team comprising the Municipal Corporation and the Irrigation Department, backed by a heavy police force, completely demolished the illegal structures erected within the river zone.
According to reports, the Municipal Corporation had received complaints alleging that land mafias had illegally constructed bridges, boundary walls, and paved roads within the natural flow zone of the Rispana River. Taking cognizance of the gravity of the matter, the Honorable Mayor and the Municipal Commissioner issued strict directives for immediate action. Acting swiftly thereafter, the administrative team—aided by JCB machines—razed the entire illegal infrastructure to the ground.
Issuing a stern warning, the Municipal Corporation administration has made it unequivocally clear that land mafias who obstruct the natural flow of rivers or encroach upon government land will not be spared under any circumstances. The administration has commended the vigilant citizens who timely reported this illegal construction and has reiterated its commitment to continuing immediate legal action in such matters in the future
