District Magistrate Savin Bansal conducted a surprise inspection today at the Sub-Registrar’s office in Vikasnagar. During the DM’s raid, several serious irregularities came to light.
During the inspection, original title deeds dating back to the years 2018, 2024, and 2025 were found in suspicious circumstances within the office; these were immediately taken into custody and seized. Preliminary investigations also revealed instances where land prohibited from sale had been registered—a clear violation of established regulations.
Furthermore, the inquiry identified 47 cases involving the evasion of stamp duty under Section 47-A. This constitutes a grave matter of financial irregularity, and legal action will be initiated in accordance with the applicable rules.
Other irregularities observed during the inspection included a lack of transparency in office operations, negligence in record-keeping, and violations of procedural norms. The District Administration is currently compiling a comprehensive report based on a detailed investigation into all these points, which will subsequently be forwarded to the State Government.
The District Magistrate has issued explicit directives to conduct a thorough investigation into all activities that took place during the tenures of both the current and former Sub-Registrars. Strict departmental and legal action will be ensured against any officials or employees found to be at fault.
