In the Sahaspur Kotwali area, a 65-year-old operator of a flour mill (Gharat) has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl. Based on a complaint, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused on Sunday night under relevant sections of the law. The accused was arrested today.
Kotwali In-charge Shankar Singh Bisht stated that the victim’s mother had filed a complaint with the police, reporting that her 10-year-old daughter had gone to a neighbor’s house—specifically her maternal aunt’s residence—to play with other children. During this time, the flour mill operator lured the girl inside his shop.
Subsequently, he sexually assaulted the child. When the girl raised an alarm, the accused fled the scene. After the girl returned home and informed her mother about the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at the Kotwali police station.
