On Sunday night in the Pachhwadoon region, a group of intoxicated youths brutally beat up a young man in broad daylight at Dharmavala Chowk. One of the accused rammed his car into the victim’s vehicle, causing significant damage. While reversing the car, he also struck another young man. Fortunately, the young man did not get trapped under the car’s wheels. The police have arrested the accused individuals: Ikram (a resident of Dharmavala), Vishal Goyal (a resident of Shahpur), and Shahrukh and Arshad (residents of Pratitpur). The car belonging to the accused, Ikram, has been seized.
On the night of the incident, a video went viral on social media. The video showed a group of youths near Dharmavala Chowk knocking a young man to the ground on the road and beating him severely. During the altercation, a driver in a car first crashed into a staircase located outside a roadside building. Subsequently, he rammed into a car parked along the road, damaging it as well. While reversing, he struck a young man; however, the youth immediately stood up and moved to the side. The driver initially drove the car toward Dharmavala Chowk, then turned it around and brought it back to the exact spot where the victim was being beaten.
Kotwali In-charge Shankar Singh Bisht stated that the youths had assaulted Ravindra Singh, a resident of Shahpur Kalyanpur. The victim revealed that the youths involved were acquaintances of his. All of them were under the influence of alcohol. They began arguing with him without any provocation and suddenly resorted to verbal abuse and physical violence. They also threatened to kill him. He further reported that the accused, Ikram, was driving his car in a dangerous manner on the road. Based on the victim’s complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the law. The car involved has been seized. The police official emphasized that hooliganism on the roads will not be tolerated at any cost, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone who disrupts public peace and order.
