Following the Char Dham pilgrimage, registration has now also commenced for the journey to Hemkund Sahib. In just two days, more than 750 devotees have registered. Meanwhile, 687,000 devotees have registered for the Char Dham Yatra so far.
The Char Dham Yatra is scheduled to begin on April 19. The Department of Tourism initiated online registration for visits to the shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri on March 6. Subsequently, following the announcement that the portals of Hemkund Sahib would open on May 23, registration for that pilgrimage began on March 17. Registration is mandatory for every devotee undertaking the pilgrimage to either the Char Dham shrines or Hemkund Sahib.
According to statistics released by the Department of Tourism, the registration count to date stands at 229,295 for Kedarnath Dham, 202,622 for Badrinath Dham, 128,253 for Gangotri, 125,366 for Yamunotri, and over 750 for Hemkund Sahib.
**Offline Registration to Begin on April 17**
Tourism Secretary Dhiraj Garbyal noted that, once again, there is palpable enthusiasm among pilgrims intending to undertake the Char Dham Yatra this year. The total number of registrations has now reached 687,000. Registration for the pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib has also commenced. To ensure the convenience of devotees, offline registration facilities are set to become operational starting April 17.
