New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised the pricing of the FASTag Annual Pass for the financial year 2026-27. According to the new directive, effective April 1, 2026, the price of the annual pass for non-commercial vehicles (cars, jeeps, and vans) has been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075.
This revision in fees has been implemented in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination and Collection) Rules, 2008. With over 5.6 million users, the adoption of the FASTag Annual Pass among private vehicle owners is growing rapidly. The revised rate will apply to eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag that wish to avail the annual pass facility at approximately 1,150 toll plazas across National Highways and National Expressways. It is worth noting that the FASTag Annual Pass eliminates the need to frequently recharge one’s FASTag account. A one-time fee payment grants validity for a period of one year or for crossing 200 toll plazas. This pass is applicable to all non-commercial vehicles possessing a valid FASTag.
Upon payment of the one-time fee via the ‘Highway Saathi’ app or the National Highways Authority of India’s official website, the annual pass becomes active on the vehicle’s existing FASTag within two hours.
The overwhelming response received by the FASTag Annual Pass—which was launched on August 15, 2025—underscores its success in providing National Highway users across the country with a more convenient and cost-effective travel option.
How many people are currently using the FASTag Annual Pass? According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH):
More than 5 million people across the country are using FASTag annual passes.
Approximately 28 percent of all car toll transactions on National Highways are now conducted through this pass.
Furthermore:
Since 2016, 118.6 million FASTags have been issued.
Of these, approximately 59 million FASTags are active.
More than 98 percent of toll collection on National Highways is carried out through FASTag.
