Haridwar: Today marks the completion of four years of the Dhami government in Uttarakhand. Grand events are being organized to mark the occasion. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the event in Haridwar. During the event, he unveiled development projects worth ₹427 crore for Haridwar. He also launched the e-Zero FIR service in Uttarakhand.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the e-Zero FIR system by pressing a digital button. Amit Shah explained that e-Zero FIRs can be registered in Uttarakhand through the 1930 toll-free helpline. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also presented a copy of the first e-Zero FIR registered in Uttarakhand’s Almora district to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Appointment letters handed over to five constables: Home Minister Amit Shah also formally handed over appointment letters to five newly recruited constables in the Uttarakhand Police. Nearly 2,000 constables have been recruited in the new recruitment drive. Citizenship certificates were granted to five Hindus who returned to India from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan under the CAA. Shailesh from Balochistan, Jaspal Kumar from Pakistan, Durga Rajput from Pakistan, and Hanseri Bai from Afghanistan were granted Indian citizenship certificates. Home Minister Amit Shah digitally laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth over ₹1,100 crore. He also released the book, “Vikaal Rikhit Sankalp,” related to various development projects during Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s tenure. The book was edited by Girija Shankar Joshi.
How to file an e-Zero FIR: This service is launched under the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Union Home Ministry to report cybercrimes in India. An FIR is registered after a complaint is submitted on the NCRP portal or the 1930 helpline. Through this service, victims can file a report from anywhere without visiting the police station.
Once an e-Zero FIR is registered, it is converted into a regular FIR within three days. It should be noted that this facility was first launched in Delhi. Now, Uttarakhand has also implemented this service. However, e-Zero FIRs can be filed in cyber fraud cases involving more than 1 million rupees.
