Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed zero tolerance for distribution losses and power theft at a review meeting of the Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (Pitkul). Taking a firm stance, he directed that land allocation for the projects be completed within a week.
CM Dhami held a review meeting of Pitkul at the Secretariat. The meeting included a detailed review of the achievements of important projects completed in the past year, ADB-funded and non-ADB-funded projects in progress, projects laid the foundation stone by the Chief Minister, works related to Chief Minister’s announcements, and the status of REC and PFC-funded projects.
The Chief Minister directed to minimize power distribution losses, strictly curb power theft, and take strict action against those negligent in reducing distribution losses. In view of the summer season, UJVNL, Pitkul, and UPCL were instructed to ensure all preparations now, complete the formalities by March, and submit the projects for launch by April.
CM Dhami said that a separate account should be opened for the funds received under the CSR scheme to ensure maximum and productive use. He directed that the work related to ADB-funded substations in various districts be expedited by promptly resolving the issues. Under the ADB-funded second phase, the land allotment and transfer process in Bahadrabad (Haridwar), Kotdwar (Pauri), Bhikiyasain (Almora), Kapkot (Bageshwar), and Nandprayag (Chamoli) should be completed within a week.
On this occasion, Pitkul MD PC Dhyani informed that the internationally renowned Power Line magazine has honored Pitkul with the Power Line Trans Tech India Award 2025. Pitkul has paid the Uttarakhand government its highest-ever dividend of โน1,243 crore in the financial year 2024-25. 22 projects were completed, of which 12 were related to capacity enhancement. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Pankaj Pandey, C Ravi Shankar, Vinay Shankar Pandey, UJVNL MD Sandeep Singhal, UPCL MD Anil Kumar were present at the meeting
