The campaign against illegal constructions within the authority’s jurisdiction is continuing. In this regard, strict action has been taken against illegal constructions violating regulations on Sahastradhara Road and other areas, and sealing procedures have been carried out.
The authority had identified an illegal multi-story construction being carried out without approved building plans by Ayush Talania and Sushil Talania in Defence Enclave, Danda Nuriwala area on Sahastradhara Road. Upon investigation, the construction was found to be in violation of regulations, and notices were previously issued to the concerned parties. Due to the failure to provide a satisfactory response and valid building plans within the stipulated time, the said illegal construction was sealed. Similarly, an illegal construction carried out by Arun Chadha in Lane No. 1, Ekta Vihar, Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun, was also sealed by the authority’s team. It was found on the spot that the construction work was being carried out without approved building plans and in violation of regulations, thus violating regional planning and safety standards.
Both these actions were carried out under the instructions of Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal. During the operation, Assistant Engineer Shailendra Singh Rawat, Junior Engineer Umesh Verma, the concerned supervisor, and adequate police force were present to ensure that the action was carried out peacefully and in an orderly manner.
In addition, strict action was also taken against an illegal multi-story construction being carried out by Rajesh in Nirmal Bagh, Block-C, Shri Ram Residency, Rishikesh, Dehradun. Upon investigation, the construction was found to be in violation of regulations, and notices were previously issued to the concerned party. Due to the failure to provide a satisfactory response and valid building plans within the stipulated time, sealing procedures were implemented on the said illegal construction as per rules.
Assistant Engineer Abhishek Bhardwaj, Junior Engineers Poonam Saklani and Amit Bhardwaj, the concerned supervisor, and police force were present during the operation.
The authority has clarified that illegal constructions will not be tolerated in the area under any circumstances. Construction carried out without approved plans or in violation of regulations not only affects urban planning but also poses a serious threat to public safety. The authority appeals to all citizens to obtain proper plan approval from the authority before commencing any construction work. In case of illegal construction, action will be taken against the concerned person as per rules, including sealing and demolition. This campaign will continue, and strict measures will be taken against such illegal constructions with the objective of making the city well-organized, safe, and planned.

Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari stated that no leniency will be shown against illegal construction in the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority area. Construction carried out without approved plans and in violation of regulations poses a serious threat to urban planning, the environment, and public safety. The authority is taking strict action in all such cases. He clarified that action, including sealing and demolition, will continue against those who violate the rules despite prior notices. Citizens are appealed to obtain plan approval from the authority before any construction, otherwise, strict action will be taken as per rules.
