New Delhi: US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, shared President Donald Trump’s invitation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to become a part of the Gaza Board of Peace. Trump sent a letter to Modi, which was shared on social media by the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor.
The letter reads, “It is with great pride that I invite Prime Minister Modi to participate in the Board of Peace, which will bring lasting peace to Gaza. The Board will support effective governance to achieve stability and prosperity!”
In the letter, Trump said, “As Prime Minister of India, it is a great honor for me to invite you to join me in a truly historic and momentous effort to secure peace in the Middle East and to adopt a new and courageous approach to resolving global conflicts!” In his letter, Trump referred to his comprehensive plan announced on September 29 to end the Gaza conflict. Trump wrote, “Now is the time to turn all these dreams into reality. At the heart of the plan is the Board of Peace, the most effective and important board ever created, which will be established as a new international organization and transitional governing administration.”
It further stated, “Our effort will bring together a group of distinguished nations ready to assume the great responsibility of building lasting peace. This honor is for those who are ready to lead by example and invest brilliantly in a secure and prosperous future for generations to come. We will soon bring together our outstanding and committed partners, most of whom are world-renowned leaders.”
This invitation comes at a time when the US administration is moving towards formalizing the Board of Peace structure associated with Trump’s broader Gaza roadmap. On Friday, the White House released a list of individuals appointed to the Board of Peace to oversee the second phase of its 20-point peace plan to end the conflict in Gaza.
The White House said in a statement that the names include US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. The announcement also included the names of members of the Gaza Executive Board, which includes Blair, Kushner, and Witkoff, along with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari diplomat Ali Al Thawadi, and others.
