BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt has received death threats over the phone from an unknown mobile number. State president Bhatt has demanded action against the accused from the Dehradun SSP.
In a letter to the SSP, Bhatt stated that he had been receiving continuous calls on his personal mobile number from an unknown number on Sunday. The caller was using abusive language and threatening to kill him. Despite repeated attempts to reason with him, the caller persisted. Bhatt said that the person was likely acting out of political malice. He added that this was not only tarnishing his political image but also posing a threat to his life.
He also suggested that a political rival might be instigating the caller. Bhatt provided the accused’s number and demanded swift and strict action. SSP Ajay Singh said that an FIR has been registered against the unknown person. Efforts are being made to identify the accused.
Threats will not be tolerated: Chauhan
State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the party will not tolerate the use of abusive language and death threats against the state president. He said that such behavior cannot be condoned in public and political life. Such incidents are unacceptable in the culture and traditions of Devbhoomi (Uttarakhand). The party expects the police to take strict action against the accused.
