The elevated road at Mohand on the Doon-Delhi Expressway has been reopened to traffic. Repair work is underway on the old route, so the elevated road has been opened for traffic for a few days. Vehicles have been using the new elevated road since late Wednesday evening.
According to officials, the old route at Mohand has been closed due to repair work. To avoid traffic disruption, the elevated road has been opened to traffic for a few days. It will be fully opened only after an official inauguration or further instructions from the authorities. With the opening of the new elevated road, the travel time to Mohand has been significantly reduced. The elevated road on the Doon-Delhi Expressway is 14 km long.
Work almost complete, expressway expected to open soon
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to open soon. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, said on Wednesday that the expressway would be opened in 10 to 15 days. The elevated road on the expressway is almost complete. Only the construction of the viaduct up to the Maa Dat Kali Temple is still underway. Officials say that 90 percent of the viaduct work is also complete.
