State Sports Minister Rekha Arya laid the foundation stone for a mini-stadium in Rait, Someshwar constituency, Almora district, on Wednesday. The stadium is being constructed at a cost of ₹97.89 lakh.
While laying the foundation stone for the mini-stadium in Rait, Someshwar, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya said that providing sports facilities to every corner of the state is her primary goal, so that the dream of producing athletes from every household can be fulfilled.
She said that the Congress government had merely paid lip service to the idea of a sports ground in Someshwar by simply allocating a piece of land, but the current government has worked to make this dream a reality. She added that the Bharatiya Janata Party government fulfills every promise it makes.
Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that after the construction of this mini-stadium with high-level sports facilities, the path will be cleared for producing national and international level athletes from this region.
Present on the occasion were District President Mahesh Nayal, Mandal Presidents Sundar Rana, Ganesh Jalal, Kharak Singh, MLA representative Bhuvan Joshi, Rajendra Kaida, Anil Rana, Chandan Bora, Bharat Bhakuni, Vinod Mehra, Shankar Bisht, Vandana Arya, Prakash Bhandari, Bahadur Singh, Narendra Negi, Village Head Shankar Ram, Gopal Rana, Sunil Kumar, Kamal Kaida, Bablu Bora, Pankaj Bajeli, Kailash Rana, Harish Kumar, Dalip Rautela, Kailash Bora, and others.
*X-ray machine inaugurated*
Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya also inaugurated an X-ray machine at the newly constructed sub-district hospital in Someshwar on Wednesday. On this occasion, she said that the hospital will soon be fully operational, providing significant healthcare benefits to the people of the region. She said that now people from the area will only need to travel elsewhere for treatment of very serious illnesses, as almost all other diseases will be treatable at this hospital. The Cabinet Minister said that the construction of the hospital is almost complete and preparations are underway to complete the formalities for staff appointments.
