The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) stall at the three-day national convention of the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) has become a major attraction for public relations and communication experts from across the country. Every individual dreams of owning a home in Dehradun, and the MDDA is working in a planned and forward-thinking manner to make this dream a reality. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the able leadership of MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, the authority is not only committed to making Dehradun a clean, beautiful, and well-organized city, but is also continuously striving to provide affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly housing to the common man. The residential and environmental schemes presented by the MDDA at the PRSI convention particularly impressed the participants.
*Residential Schemes Gaining Momentum*
Keeping in mind the city’s growing population and changing urban needs, the MDDA has accelerated its residential projects. Recently, a decision was made to create a land bank for new residential projects to ensure the availability of affordable housing in the future. After the successful residential schemes like ISBT and Amwala Tarla, special focus is now being given to the Dhaulas residential project. In addition, residential schemes for EWS, LIG, and MIG categories are being implemented in the Transport Nagar and Sahastradhara Road areas.
*Beautification with Environmental Protection*
The MDDA is also giving equal priority to the beautification of the city and environmental protection. The City Forest Park, developed at a cost of approximately Rs. 40 crore on Sahastradhara Road, is now becoming a new landmark of Dehradun. Facilities such as walkways, flower beds, tree houses, and a cafeteria are connecting people with nature. Work on the Eco Park and the beautification of Mall Road in Mussoorie is also progressing. Along with this, plans for the development of 69 parks and increasing greenery in the city are continuously underway. *Statement by MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari*
MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari stated that making Dehradun a clean, green, and livable city is our priority. For this, work is being done simultaneously on housing, environment, and infrastructure. Our endeavor is to provide better housing to the common man at affordable rates and to ensure that the city’s development is in harmony with nature. In the coming years, MDDA’s plans will not only address the housing problem but will also make Dehradun more attractive from a tourism and investment perspective.
*Statement by MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia*
MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia stated that all the authority’s schemes are being implemented in a well-planned manner. Transparency, timeliness, and quality are the foundation of our working methodology. Creating a land bank will enable us to formulate plans keeping future needs in mind. Furthermore, through efforts in environmental protection and increasing greenery, Dehradun is being developed as a better and more balanced urban model.
