The dry weather for the past two months is directly affecting temperatures. There’s a significant difference between morning and evening temperatures, but the average temperature hasn’t dropped. This is causing a dry cold wave across the state.
Looking at the data, on Monday, the maximum temperature in Doon was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. In contrast, in the mountainous district of New Tehri, the daytime maximum temperature was recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, and the nighttime minimum temperature was also recorded at 9.3 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal.
The situation in Mukteshwar was similar. Here, the daytime maximum temperature was 21.3 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal, and the minimum temperature was 9.3 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal. Meteorologists say that the state has been experiencing good sunshine since October. This is why the daytime minimum temperature is now increasing along with the nighttime minimum temperature. In the coming days, the weather will remain dry throughout the state until December 3rd.
