The government’s decision to grant equal pay for equal work to contractual employees will benefit 5,500 employees in the first phase. Contractual employees in the state were demanding regularization and equal pay for equal work.
Employees had been on strike for the past 16 days to press their pending demands. Following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directive, an order was issued to grant equal pay for equal work. According to Military Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, approximately 5,500 contractual employees in the state will benefit in the first phase. However, after this, all employees will be given the benefit of equal pay for equal work in a phased manner
