Patna: Amid the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Tej Pratap Yadav, National President of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) and candidate from the Mahua Assembly constituency, expressed his ambition after casting his vote. He said that if given the opportunity, he would not shy away from becoming Chief Minister, but the decision rests with the public.
Statement after voting: Tej Pratap Yadav cast his vote at a polling station in Patna and, speaking to the media, appealed to the people of Bihar to vote. He said, “The people of Bihar must cast their votes. Every vote is important. The blessings of parents hold a special place, and the blessings of the public have their own significance.”
Aspiration to become Chief Minister: Citing his father’s legacy, Tej Pratap said that his father had said that if he had the chance to become Prime Minister, he would definitely become PM. Similarly, if he had the chance to become Chief Minister, he would definitely become CM. He stressed that the blessings of the people have their own significance.
“Just as my father used to say that if I had the chance to become Prime Minister, why would I give it up, similarly, if I had the chance to become Chief Minister, why would I give it up. Whether I would become Prime Minister or not will be decided on the 14th, but I am not so greedy that I want to sit on the chair.” – Tej Pratap Yadav, National President, Jan Shakti Janata Dal
Employment, stopping migration, and social justice are priorities: Tej Pratap expressed his willingness to stand with any government, provided it protects the interests of the common man. He said, “…whoever forms the government, the one that provides employment to the common man, stops migration, and brings change to Bihar, we will stand with it. The public is the master; it is the public that makes and breaks things.” Linking his ideology to the legacy of Lohia and Karpoori Thakur, he said, “The ideology is of social justice, total change, and total revolution.” In the Bihar elections, Jashjad is not part of the Grand Alliance, and Tej Pratap is contesting as an independent from Mahua. His statements in the final stages of voting have become a topic of discussion in political circles.
