Dehradun (Uttarakhand): President Draupadi Murmu has reached her three-day visit to Uttarakhand. President Draupadi Murmu reached Jolly Grant Airport at around 11 am. Where Governor Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the President. After this, President Draupadi Murmu left for Patanjali University.
During the second convocation ceremony organized at Patanjali University, President Draupadi Murmu honored the gold medal winning students. A total of 1454 students were awarded medals in the program. 62 researchers were awarded the title of Vidya Varidhi and 3 researchers were awarded the title of Vidya Vachaspati. While 615 students were awarded master’s degree and 774 students were awarded bachelor’s degree. During the convocation, Governor Gurmeet Singh also presented two books based on the diverse flora of Rashtrapati Bhavan, Flora of Rashtrapati Bhavan and Medicinal Plants of Rashtrapati Bhavan, to the President. During this, the President said that today 64 percent of the students getting degrees are daughters. The number of girls receiving medals is four times that of boys. Of the total students receiving education in the university, the number of daughters is 62 percent. This is not just a number, but an example of a developed India moving forward under the leadership of women. The President said that this is an extension of the great tradition of Indian culture in which learned women like Gargi, Maitreyi, Apala and Lopamudra provided intellectual and spiritual leadership to the society. Educated daughters will make Mother India proud with their inner strength and talent. In folk tradition, this most sacred area of Hari-Dwar is also known as Haridwar. According to this tradition, this holy place is also the door to the darshan of Hari i.e. Vishnu and also the door to the darshan of Har i.e. Shiva. The students and teachers who worship Goddess Saraswati in such a sacred plot are very fortunate. The President said that not only many holy rivers originate from this region of the Himalayas, many streams of Gyan-Ganga also flow from here. An uninterrupted stream of this university has also been added to them. You all have decided to get education in this university which promotes modern education as per Indian culture.
Through this university, the important tradition of Maharishi Patanjali is being made accessible to today’s society. He also said that he was told that this university is carrying forward education and research in the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy. This effort is helpful in building a healthy India. The coordination of ancient Vedic knowledge and new scientific research and solving global challenges.
At the same time, Chief Minister Dhami said that the struggling life, simple nature and humble conduct of President Draupadi Murmu is a source of inspiration for everyone. It is the good fortune of the people of Uttarakhand that they are getting companionship and guidance on the historic occasion of completion of 25 years of the establishment of the state. This convocation ceremony is an important milestone for all these students. In such a situation, all these students are setting out on a new journey and a new chapter of their lives is about to begin. CM said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uttarakhand government is also working to establish the state as a leading state in the field of education and innovation along with other fields. Along with this, a Center for Hindu Studies has also been established for in-depth study of Indian culture, philosophy and history. Apart from this, we are also working towards promoting scientific research in the state through the construction of Science City in Dehradun, Astro Park in Haldwani and Science Center in Almora.
