On Thursday, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi distributed sports and reading materials to 28 Anganwadi centers in 15 Gram Panchayats under the Sahaspur Vikaskhand of the Mussoorie Assembly constituency in Ghaziawala, Dehradun.
Under this program, children were provided with tiffin boxes, water bottles, dart boards, puzzle games, kitchen sets, doctor sets, 3D charts, white charts, black charts, rollerboards, white rollerboards, crazy balls, pencil boxes, pencils, cutter sharpeners, erasers, sketch pens, rugs, coloring books, slates, slate boxes, weight machines, iron boxes, aluminum pots, steel ladles, and pressure cookers. He also announced the provision of furniture, cupboards, and other essential materials to all Anganwadi centers in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency.
In his address after the distribution ceremony, the Cabinet Minister, quoting Nobel Prize winner Nelson Mandela, said that education is the most powerful weapon, which can be used to change the world. The Minister stated that education is a crucial part of our society, and without education, no country or society can develop. He said that he initiated the distribution of sports and study materials to children studying in 100 Anganwadi centers and 11 mini Anganwadi centers in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency. Continuing this initiative, today, 28 Anganwadi centers are being provided with sports and study materials. He stated that 100% of Anganwadi centers have been provided with sports and study materials.
The Cabinet Minister stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is continuously striving for child development and women empowerment. Anganwadi centers are the first step in children’s overall development, where the foundation for education, values, and health awareness is laid. He said that availability of sports and reading material will increase children’s interest in learning and will also help Anganwadi workers in conducting teaching work in a better manner.
On this occasion BJP’s Mandal in-charge Jyoti Kotiya, Mandal General Secretary Kiran Manyudi, Seema Pundir, former Pradhan Leela Sharma, Village Head Sunil Chhetri, Mandal President Rajiv Gurung, former Mandal President Poonam Nautiyal, Jitendra Rana, Samundra Raigmi, Sanjay Sharma, Village Head Bharti Jawadi, Suresh Jawadi, former BDC Jyoti Dhakal and local people were present.
