Due to snowfall in the mountainous regions of the state and the increasing cold in the plains, the demand for electricity has also started increasing. On Tuesday, the demand figure reached nearly 40 million units. During Diwali, the weather was slightly cold, but the demand for electricity remained around 30 million units.
Within eight days after Diwali, the demand for electricity has continuously increased and reached 40 million units. In comparison, 11 million units of electricity are available from UJVNL and 14 million from the central pool, totaling approximately 25 million units.
The remaining electricity is being arranged from the market. However, UPCL management claims that there are no announced or unannounced power cuts anywhere at present
